Shout NY covers the New York that people actually live in after work: the dive bar with the good jukebox, the gallery opening on a Thursday in Chelsea, the band playing a 200-cap room on a Tuesday, the slice worth the detour, the sample sale worth the line.

We write for people who go out, read a lot, and like being early. Every guide is checked against the city as it is now, not as it was five years ago, and we update our guides when places close, move, or stop being good.
